Wedding Anniversary - Yesterday....

It's now already SEVENTEEN years for my sweetie Michael & I!! We got married at the gorgeous LDS Bountiful Temple in Bountiful (just few months old) on September 9, 1995 (Saturday)... I remember the sealing like it happened yesterday.

One memory I can share with you, it's hilarious... after we got sealed for all time & eternity, I changed my dress & went to meet my newlywed husband at the elevator, you could not believe his eyes and the stare he created as he watched me.  As we (my mom, grandma, Jeffrey (David) & Michael) waited as the elevator moved, I nervously asked Michael if he was ok as he is still staring (really like a lovestruck stare)... he was like oh.. sorry! you are so beautiful & I wanted to tell you that I am so happy that I made the right choice & that you are the ONE.  I was like, huh.... & teased him that he had 'waited' until after the 'wedding' to see if I am the 'right ONE'... he said yeah.. Jeffrey (David), smacked him in the back.  We all laughed.

Michael then explained that he has had dreamed of this wedding & saw the beautiful wedding dress.  But in the dream, it wouldn't show who it was.  So, as I was trying to keep tradition, I didn't show him the wedding dress, or the pictures I had done before the wedding.  Hence, he finally saw me in the dress just exactly like his dream.  The dress, the hair, the veil, & the hands (& of course the pose)... that was in the picture I had done that Michael later saw at the wedding reception.

It was hilarious in a way and we always laughed about it all the time & he always tells me that he always loves me so much & he is so happy that he got to choose me. & that he had waited for me.

Happy Anniversary Honey!  I am looking forward to many more years with you with lots of laughter, teasing, challenges, loving, hugging, giggling and support!! I Love You honey!!!

Love Always,

Anne Post Fife

Labor Day Fun!!! September 3, 2012

Woke up before 6 a.m. to go fishing at the Sandy 'Pond' by the River Oaks Golf Course in Sandy with Parker.  We lost track of time and came home after 10:45 a.m. with no fish (as Parker is feeling disappointed, but is looking forward to our 'future' trips there!!)... Oh, don't we have plenty of stories to share with you!!

We were obviously the first one there, arriving at the ummm... I kept losing the words... that's right, dock... sat down there as one other guy with his 2 boys arrived.  About 20 minutes later, few people arrive later, sitting around the pond... we were looking around enjoying the sight, the sun wasn't even out yet.  We arrived there about 6:25 a.m.  The sun finally came out at 7:34 a.m.  Pictures to be shown here soon...

It was chilly, of course, not sure of the temperature, like a Fall Chill.... we could see the fog creating around the pond, even there was a playground near by, it has fog!!  Creepy but 'purty'....

We had alot of 'close' calls... Parker kept getting frustrated, I kept encouraging and patiently asked him to be 'patient', but it's impossible to do that with a 9-year old ADHD kiddo!!  We had so much fun, looking around, then as soon as the sun came up, we walked around, we saw someone caught a fat rainbow trout.  We moved to sit the 'opposite' side of the dock and in the shade, we sat next to quite few people (they have had their bait waiting in the water for a while)... then we had alot more close calls again!! Parker asked me to throw the bait for him with the pole, so I did, when I did, I did so well, that one good fish jumped out, and I felt a teeny bite, but wasn't enough to 'pull' yet, then we saw the pelican going over that area, and 'stole' that jumpy fish!! Parker was like hey! that's my fish!! What a story!!  He begged me to try one more time, so I did, whoops, the bait flew off the line, the line broke!!  I felt so bad!!  The people next to us lend us a used bubble to use, really nice of them.. so we tried again.  Alot more close calls again!!

Then those people who lend us the bubble, caught huge catfish!!  (in my thought I went Uggh!! but I was surprised!! that the pond has catfish, I thought only few like Trout (few kind), I can't remember other kind I think minnow something like that).. but that catfish was huge, like longer than Parker's own arm!!  seriously!!

Then I checked the time on my phone after taking so many good pics, obviously my sweet honey asked if we were ok as we have been gone over 4 hours... oops!! we were having so much fun!!... so we were talking to getting ready to leave etc... Parker begged to stay until 'he get a fish...'... I said that everyone is going swimming!!.. He said fine!! and asked if we could come back later.. we plan on that.. so.. we felt so good having so much fun there.. and we stinked!! seriously!!  my hands were so gross from all that red bait eggs... I was so surprised... even if I used alot of the anti-bacterial lotion, still not enough!!... oh brother!!

We came home and hurriedly changed to go with my family & my parents & go up to Heber to join my sisters swimming.  First we stopped at Cafe' Galleria to 'listen' to Kellie, Melissa and one of their friend singing as their daily events.  Enjoyable moments!!  Then we stopped by to say hi to Nan. She looks great and then went over to the girls' home to go swimming.  Katie, Kurt & Rubie came & joined us.  Rubie was so cute!!  We went swimming for a while..of course Parker kept trying to be like Michael Phelps (his hero)... I am being patience.  Luke is doing good in the water.  Loves to jump of the side and make huge cannonballs!  Nick just being Nick :)  We had alot of games in the pool with Sissy. It was fun!!  Mom & Dad just sat out in the shade watching us & relaxing...

Then all of us left to come home and have our traditional Labor Day dinner.  RJ, Stephanie & her sweetie joined us.  Kristie, Josh & their girls Brooklyn & Emily came as well.  The dinner was so good.  We got to celebrated Katie's & Brooklyn's birthdays as well.

The funniest part of this night was when the 'bug zapper' was being used.  the flies was 'bugging' us.  so we try to use it to get it.  Kurt was experimenting it with others. Silly him.  With the carrot,  and even squealed!!  it actually shocked (not him, but the carrot...)... then few minutes later.. he actually 'caught' two stones in one, meaning a bee & a fly.  really!  so Dad & I teasedly said that the bee & a fly were sweethearts & being silly about that.

the boys were disappointed that they missed it, so later on, Kurt got a moth, and showed to them zapped the moth with it.  Poor Moth.

Then the most memorable part of the night, was one of my favorite part!!  Our family pictures!!  we try to do that as much as we can!!  We did it outside on the steps, we did so silly , simple, nice, so.. we will see how it goes.. we did our family, 7 of us, girls with mom, girls with dad, boys with dad, whole family.  ...

that's the day.

Labor Day Weekend... almost over....

Good evening!

Just another update!

a newest information that I commented regarding Nick's audition for Shakespeare Team at Hillcrest High, this is what I commented:

Nick learned he didn't get into Hillcrest's Shakespeare team :( .... We learned that some of his close friends got.in! Way to go!! We will for sure try to go & see their show in October!!

I saw this in their blog, this is what their director Mr. Long said:

PS---9 th Graders, it looks like Hillcrest theatre has an awesome future in your hands. I look forward to working more with you next year! Thank you so much for coming out and auditioning!

Now we are so PROUD of Nick!! And excited for him!  He has other ambitions to focus on!

Today was an unique day!! We got to go and listen to our sweet niece receive her baby blessing.  So beautiful!!  Then we had wonderful 'brunch' - really a luncheon... delicious sandwiches, potato salad, chips, krispie rice cookies, lemon cheesecake and of course cold drinks.  We got to visit with family members of my brother-in-law, been a while since I last saw them!!

Then tomorrow we will celebrate LABOR DAY!!  I cannot wait!! We had an eventful weekend!!

Friday night, I got to go and had a nice, simple break having a 'girls sleep-over' with my sisters & mom  (yep, we do!!, and of course, I am not young and still we get to be silly!! :) )... we went out to dinner at the Claim Jumper, I had really good dinner.  We got to go to Granny's Drive-In which I have never been ('shame on me, I know!!), so delicious!! They have a funny 'famous' saying from their Granny, 'Life is Short, Eat Dessert First!'... good thought!! I had of course my favorite candy bar, Reese's Candy Vanilla Shake. Yummy!

We went and hang out at my sisters' home, chatting the night away, we even try to 'recreate' the picture we did back then when we went on our first vacation to California as a family.  It was so hilarious, almost similar, just that all of us are so GROWN-UP... we had our own laughs!! Pictures to come soon....

then went to sleep, I didn't know (I knew of the weather)... that it had been raining all night with lightning and thunder, my sisters couldn't sleep and was concerned.. interesting...

we didn't get to go to the Swiss Days, I guess because of the weather but I got to go to one of the coolest neighbor shops called 'Water on the Moon', awesome stuff there!!  I got some neat stuff!!  One thing I laughed my head off was one of their product, a coffee mug: "D.I.E.T. Did I Eat That?" I almost got that, maybe next time!!

One thing I love about this trip is the ride up there and ride home from there, is the view, there are FALL foliage all over the mountains already!! gorgeous!! I need to grab my BOYS and have our family pictures taken SOON!!!  (Pictures coming soon!)

Last night, I was surprised by the boys when they cleaned their bedroom, with the help from Grandpa!  WOW!!  It felt good!! :) (& Thanks Grandpa too!!)

Then we got to see Mirror Mirror as family, funny movie and great story!!  then the boys went to bed, while my honey & I was ready to watch an action movie when all of the sudden the power went out.   I got in touch with my Dad and I later learned that the transporter which held all the power for our 'rows' of houses got hit with lightning was badly damaged and had to be fixed.  So, we had to use candles to see, and of course, we use our cell-phones' light to see as well.  Lucas was sound asleep.  Parker was readying to go to asleep until the power went out and scared him, we went and got him.  the 4 of us sat together and waited for my parents to come home and find more about whats going on.  we later learned that it won't come on until early morning.  (it came on at 530 am the next day).  so we sat together and quietly ponder about things, Mike was already tired and went sound asleep.  Nick was studying his scriptures by the candlelight, it was inspiring to see that.  Same with Parker as he sat with me and we sit together quietly for a while until we are ready to go to bed.  We waited about an hour.  The power went out at 10 p.m.

This makes me ponder about the things, especially the worldly things that we have and how we take them for granted.  I am grateful I have the candles that we can use, and of course for our cellphones that we can use for the 'light', and for the calm that we all have and knowing we can be safe and be relaxed.  Can you imagine back in the old times when all those who used the candles for the light and I bet they wished they had some kind of 'power' or electricity like we have now.  Just be grateful with what you have and don't take for granted.  Never know it can be taken away from you.  Ponder about that.

Just that I am so grateful for my sweet honey, my silly 3 musketeers, my supportive loving sisters, my watchful parents and for the time I have spent with them for a LONG time. And hope to continue for a long time on.

Happy Labor Day!  I am looking forward to a special day tomorrow! I will tell all about it tomorrow night!  I made a promise to myself that I can use this Family Blog like a Journal so I can share with my 3 musketeers and have them appreciate what has been happening and maybe others can appreciate as well as they can share with others too!

Good night!!

Rainy Annie - I came with my family (minus Mike & the boys) to see the OPENING night of the Sandy Arts Guild's AIDA - the upbeat and inspiring musical!!  it actually rained!! only for 15 or so minutes. but oh so worth it!!  I got to see the preview the night before, opening night, ASL Interpret DEAF Nights, then the Closing night, I am so dang proud of Nick!!  The next picture is from the coolest App on my HTC Evo 4g, INSTAGRAM  ... I suggest you get that!! It will definitely make you 'look' like a PRO photographer!!... you will see more of my pictures... hence this one.. this is one of the spotlights I took as I was unable to take pictures of the play due to 'copyrights'.  It's cool!

So the following pictures are of the play that Ron Russell, a professional Photographer that I got form Flickr ... awesome pictures!! most of them on here has Nick in them.  if you can find him, great!!

the last 2 pictures, again I made it.  It's fun!  I had a great time.  I did help out with the Set Building & Painting. A lot of Volunteer Hours & Tickets for me.  Worth it!  Makes me feel so good! And worth it again !!!

a VERY much needed UPDATED post!!

Well!! It's been way TOO long since I last posted in this family blog! I believe it was back in 2009! Oh boy!

Since we have Facebook, text messages, emails, community activities, family parties, a lot has been caught up especially on Facebook. But hey I realized that some people don't have Facebook. So I better get started on the family blog, especially if I want to share more information or share more 'news'.  What better way to do that than on a family blog huh?

I will have to find a whole bunch of pictures to get 'caught up'.  Mike is now working at ARUP Lab, almost 5 years this year.  I am still a homemaker, with an 'awesome' job, being a caregiver of my favorite nieces (I wish I could also babysit my other favorite niece Rubie too!, I will some days!!) while their mom teaches!!

The boys are DEFINITELY growing and growing!!

Nick is now 6 feet tall (that is with shoes...), yep! He's 14!! Oh man! He knows he has to respect me still!

He is a true Thespain, loves to dance and sing and very actively performs! He just auditioned for Shakespeare Team at Hillcrest High School, we are now crossing fingers he will get a part! His middle school, Union Middle School will be doing another play this year, High School Musical Jr, which of course he will audition for and he hopes to get an awesome part as well. Especially after that great part he got last year at the Beauty & the Beast Jr where he was Lumiere (he's perfect for that!!)

He also performed for the Sandy Arts Guild (Honk Jr. - Father Goose; Suessical the Musical - Who; Willy Wonka Jr - James, the candy boy; High School Musical, Jr. - J something, thespain; Once on this Island Jr - Ton Ton Julian and recently Aida - Egyptian Soldier & Minister) and also last summer he performed for the Midvale Arts Guild which I performed with also in All Shook Up!  He has many many experiences!! We are so proud of him!!

Lately he has been attending the Learning Circle (TLC) where he learn to dance, ballet, tap (yes!), musical/theater/dance, sing and being part of the Company.  He loves going to the studio and being part of them!!

He is growing and getting very very smart!! This past year, he has earned 4.0 GPA all year.  He s now taking 5 (I believe) Honors classes.  I know he is so smart and working so hard.  We are so proud of him!! He has great goals and life as he tries his best!!

Next is Parker.  Soon to be 10 years old.  He is in 4th grade, now in the newest school, Peruvian Park Elementary (good reason - the district will go through the boundary changes next year... just to be ready!!).  He is so ambitious!!  He now has ADHD and he is learning to live with it.  We are learning along with him.  We are so proud of him.

He loves to be active in sports especially basketball.  He just did a season of Jazz Jr. Basketball, even he got to be picked to go and be one of the players as inpirational players, we got to go and watch the volunteer teams play for fun, and even met some players, he even got to play a fun game where he got to keep a HUGE shoe of one of the UTAH JAZZ player (Paul Millsap)... size 16).... ! seriously!! He now is getting very interested in swimming.  With the recent events from the London 2012 Summer Olympics, Michael Phelps is now 'his hero'!  That's what Parker wants to be!  Didn't you know that Michael has ADHD too?  That motivates Parker and makes him feel good and that he knows that there are other people with same problems as him.  That Parker can overcome and accomplish as Michael did.

Now is the perfect time for Parker to TRY!!  We are HERE to support him!!

He is so brilliant especially in reading! Even if he is in 4th grade, he is now reading '6th' grade level! I felt like that I wanted to tell the boys to 'slow' down, but TIME do fly by fast!! Use those time preciously!!

Lastly but not least .... our sweet and talkative little guy Lucas!  Soon he will go to Kindergarten!! for me a big BOOHOO!!  My boys are surely growing up and 'leaving the nest soon'!!  He is learning so fast!!  He is improving his sign language skills and so fun to watch!

He is very active and also love to help out with the girls while I care for them.  He loves to color, write his names whenever he can.  He LOVES to use puzzles.  We like to play dominoes too!!  He likes to put them up and knock them down too!!

We loves to read together.  He loves to watch movies, especially if I watch with him.  It's fun!!

He loves to follow and play with Parker as Parker did with Nick.  Lucas did express interests in playing baseball (he is good)... we are thinking of putting him in PeeWee baseball next spring.  He also said he wants to be like Nick (theater)... so we are thinking of him participating in some kind of program somewhere like at school.  Depending.

Alot of things going on, and yes I am now a TAXI MOM!! I couldn't believe how much driving around I was doing everyday this week!!

It's fun!!

I will be posting the pictures soon! Especially some from the Facebook, and of course Instagram!!  Great APP!!

Love you guys!  I'll keep posting whenever I can!  This weekend is Labor Day weekend!  I will be going out of 'town' kinda- a GNO (girls night out) with my sisters & mom!! Fun!!!! A very much needed break!! :)

Happy Labor Day!!!
